Bezier Controls and Shapes

I often like making rectilinear masks (crops) with the Bezier tool and find it a flexible asset within the Pan/Crop tool.

Is there a way to force the Bezier pen to go in just perpendicular straight lines in horizontal/vertical directions to facilitate making the rectangular masks? I know in After Effects drawing rectangular/square/circular masks is a very easy thing to do.

Also, once one makes the mask, I seem to have a problem applying borders appropriately to it using the border filter. The border edges are not applied appropriately to the masked area.

Thanks,

Marc

You can turn off the X or Y axis, but that doesn't guarantee a straight line along the opposite axis. Having this more like AE where you hold SHIFT would be a great feature or workflow.
With the X or Y axis turned off, it simply prevents the bezier curve from coming into play in terms of you being able to manipulate it opposite the allowed axis.

I agree. Perhaps SONY could take note for this is an added feature for it's next upgrades/versions. Using a powerful Bezier mask tool makes the overall pan/crop feature so much more flexible. In fact, I prefer to use it for cropping rather than rotoscoping.
