Bezier Masking as a Media FX

VMS16 Platinum Build 175. Win 10.

I'm wondering if Vegas Bezier Masking is meant to be applied as a Media FX? I have no problems applying it as an Event FX but when applying as a Media FX I find the following:

  1. Oval, Rectangle and Diamond Types all work but there are no nodes in Preview. No problem as the Width and Height sliders work to adjust the size/shape.
  2. Curve Type is unusable as I'm unable to create any anchor points. My mouse pointer doesn't change to a nib shape like it does when applying as an Event FX.

Bug, By design or just me? Could someone else please check to see if they find the same. If it is by design that Bezier Masking isn't to be applied as a Media FX then the user needs something on screen informing them so.

Yes, same here. To me it looks like being a bug.

A workaround for some cases may be using it as Event FX but changing its processing order before Pan/Crop. It then acts like being used as Media FX (with the exception it would apply to only one Event if same media is used several times).

Thanks Marco for confirming. I wanted to use it as a Media FX on several clips that I'm not yet ready to add to the timeline.

Does the same problem occur in Vegas Pro? I'm not looking at updating but if it occurs in Pro as well there's probably a better chance it might get fixed.

Bezier Masking applied as a Media FX is now working correctly in VMS17 Platinum.
