Bezier Masking Crashes when Tracking

John-Demaree wrote on 2/8/2021, 11:20 PM

I have just recently started using Bezier Masking. It works great. I can track using Location, but if I switch to Size and Location, or Rotation and Location it will run the process, but as soon as I click on the clip MS crashes. I can click on the menu I can save my changes, but if I click somewhere on the project itself where it might have to render the results in the preview window, it crashes...every time. I closed every other program and tried it that way and it still crashed.

I have a new laptop running Windows 10 Home 64 Bit Version 1909

MS 17 Build 204

Intel i7-10750H cpu 2.6Ghz

16GB Ram

Here is the text from the Crash Window:

Go to the AMD or nVidia site (whoever makes your GPU) and download the latest drivers for your graphics card. (Don't trust Windows to do it.) Reboot and see if that makes a difference.

Other issues could be related to the media you are trying to edit. Is this other than camcorder HD video?

Updating the drivers was a mixed bag. I was able to update the Nvidia GeForce driver without any issues. The UHD Graphics driver was another story. I went to my computer manufacturer's website downloaded the driver specifically for my computer, but when I went to load it, I got a warning saying it was not compatible with my computer. So far in the process the one driver I could load has not helped my MS issue as it still crashes in exactly the same spot. I will try with other media just to make sure that is not an issue as well. It was from an iphone so an MOV format video footage.

Just tried it with a native file from my Sony cameras in .m2ts format with the same result.

Dear John,

could you solve the problem finally? Cause I have exactly the same issue ...

Warm regards and thanks in advance!

Theresa

I downloaded the Intel driver wizzard and used it to update my driver. That fixed it. I recently updated to Vegas 20 and had new issues of jpg not showing up correctly. I updated both drivers again and fixed that problem as well. One small hitch was that the Intel driver says "If you load this driver you may loose your manufacturers settings." That made me pause. But then 2 paragraphs down it says if the processor is newer than 2016 this warning doesn't apply. UGH. I also had Intel drivers and GeForce drivers. I had to update both this last time to get Vegas 20 working, but it is now, and I am very happy.
