Big Trouble Printing to Tape - Please Help!!!

I produced a wonderful 20 minute video but kept getting a "file format not correct for current device" every time I tried to print to DV tape.
I tried every version - including NTSC DV compressed.

Then, I tried printing so many times I kept getting a message saying the file was too large to save. So, I began deleting versions. Now half my clips are missing - I've searched, did a system recovery, nothing has worked.

I don't want to do the clips all over again if I can't save or print the darn thing.
Why would it capture the video find but not print it?
Here's what I'm working with -
VideoFactory 2.0c (updated)
Gateway Intel Pentium 4 Processor 1700MHz 1.7GHZ
IEEE 1394 card
Microsoft ME
256MB RDRAM PC800
Camera: JVC DVL310 (connected with a USB Belkin cord and S video cable)
Can someone please answer in real simple terms? I've tried calling tech support but am never able to get through.
Thanks
