Big VP13 Project crash on 34%

Helllo,

I have a project witch i am working on for years (not straight on off course) and want to finish it,
It always crashes at 34% while loading the project, so i tryd to find the culprit, i have new ssd
so moved all my media and then Vegas ask off course where the files are, searching and selecting them all and voila nothing wrong, whole project on timeline with no errors,
saving the project, and same thing, loading new saved project, crashes at 34%,
also loading the .veg file on the timeline is no problem.

The project had old Newblue FX plugins before and crashes back then on that (because of wrong NB plugins Openfx/Vegas 64) so i removed that also that cant be it now.

I have no clue anymore, could anybody know a different way to find the culprit?

i will later post the error log as i am at work now.

What are the input file formats? Use the free MediaInfo program to list the attributes.

If it always crashes in the same place, you may have a flaky media file. Experiment with temporarily renaming input files, and ignore them when you get the "not found" message.

Also, are you working with GPU on? If so, try turning it off and see what happens.

thx for the reply dxdy

I know MediaInfo but to find out witch media file is a impossible job...hundreds of short clips and it loads all fine when media is all moved and to select again like above wroten...

I will try right away at home the GPU Off as i read it to in a other forum after i posted this,
would be something....but glad if that would be it

When faced with finding a single element in a large population, I use the half interval method.

Say for example you have 100 clips. Put the clips in order by name. Move the first 50 of them to another subdirectory so Vegas can't find them. Load the project, tell Vegas to ignore all missing clips. If the project loads, you know it is one of the first 50. Now move 25 of the ones you moved back into the working directory. Try again.

If it doesn't load, it is one of the last 50. Remove 25 of the remaining files, try again.

This way if you have 300 clips, you can find the rogue in about 10 tries.

Is it downright crashing or "just" freezing? I had a similar issue, V13 would freeze while loading a project, I found out by chance that when I waited for like10 minutes, Vegas would eventually load the project and work.

Thx for the tip for in the future (hope not)

But guess what.. GPU off..and at 34% it was loading and thought yip here we go again...

But then whole project appears on timeline..what does this mean...
vegas pro bug? driver of GPU issues? both?

Also what i did is downloaded Vegasaur Trial, removed all Plugin FX,
and now loading project WITH GPU on, there where only FX plugin from sony in the project (black&white etc.).

@Mindmatter

Both it freezes at that percent and then crashes short after that...but like said in previous post not with GPU..

Could be a video driver issue. What version driver are you using with the 390?
