Bit Rate

Is there any way that I can set my own bit rate when I render an mpeg from Vegas? I am trying to use the mpeg file to make a DVD in DVDit!, and I keep getting errors. I'm told the way to fix it is to make sure my mpeg movie has a constant bit rate. I can't find how to do it on Vegas, am I stupid? Please be honest.

File > Render As > "Save as type" = MainConcept MPEG-2 , "Template" = choose suitable DVD template ,
Click on "Custom"
On video tab select "Constant bit rate" & type in value you require.
