Bit Rate speeds help

When I am in the Costum Tab of any Templeate there are Tabs for Video Audio and one for Bit Rate.

And there are check boxes that say things like
Internet/LAN 3 MB is in the box
28.8kbps MODEM 32 is in the box

Are these the diferant speeds that people can download your video at? If so then if Internet/LAN is 3 MB in the box why does it let me put 1 MB or 5 MB if it is what it is it should be a fixed speed?

I answered you this same thing just the other day. Stop using that tab. You need to do the bitrate in the "Video" tab, by selecting one of the bitrate drop-down-boxes on the top of that tab.

In addition to the other good advice, here is a bit of background, at least as I understand it...

Those bit rates for different connection types are "target bit rates" for the video itself. I'd imagine this would allow you to set up your file to be bandwidth friendly when streaming. A high bit rate movie will not play back well when streaming over a slow connection.

As such they are targets, and VMS, being flexible, allows you to create a higher bit rate if you wanted to.

If you're not delivering via streamed file, then you wouldn't worry about it in any case...
