Bitrate

Hi All,

I'm using DVDA 1.0c After having vegas render the a 2hours and 2 minutes footage to the DVD Architect NTSC video stream template (mpeg2) the 5.1 gig file is then feed into DVDA.

I make sure I'm using 4.7 media. I set the default bit rate as low as 3.0 (Mbps) via the slider but the Estimate size does not change to reflect my changes. I go ahead anyways but I later get an error that it won't fit on a DVD. The estimated size is 6,020MB (126% of 4.7GB media).

There must be something wrong but I don't know what. I made many DVD but not as long as 2 hours..and I don't understand why the estimated size does not change when the default rate is changed.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Set the bitrate in Vegas before you render to Mpeg 2.

Thanks. That did the trick but I'm not sure why this can't be done in DVDA.

This cant be done in DVD because:
once you render from Vegas using DVDA template, file you got is MPEG and it's DVD compliant, so DVDA will not re-reneder it, plus you wouldnt want it either simply because you will loose quality. You render it once in Vegas, and then you want DVDA to render MPEG to MPEG again???? If you want DVDA to reflect your changes when you slide bitrate slider up or down, render from Vegas as uncompressed AVI, then use DVDA to render it into MPEG, THEN, it will do what you want
