black bar at bottom

Wondering if anyone has any ideas how to get a black bar at the bottom of my video so that I can have text that runs from right to left over top the black box so that it is easy to read. thanks

Scroll down a little and download "Vegas4 Animated Lower Thirds." You can then modify the file to any sort or color of "bar" in any location you wish. Darryl

Or just use the solid color media generator and crop it down to where you want it.
