Black bars in Vegas Pro8

Brainfart..... Vegas renders video but it puts black bars on top and bottom of each frame..How do I turn that off ? My Mt2 files don't show that way on play back in VLC

Sounds like you have widescreen material and you're rendering to a 4:3 format. Make sure you choose a widescreen template, or go into advanced settings and set the output aspect to widescreen/16:9 as appropriate.

You need to match the properties of your clips and the project.
You probably have an HDV clip in a DV (4:3) project.

File-Properties-Template....

If that doesn't work.. go to the track motion of your clips and right click and select.. match output aspect....
