black frame between clips?

i'm using the latest 3.0b version of MS. i'm fairly new at this so i'm probably doing something wrong.

i've noticed that frequently when i am dragging clips around (for example if i want to change the order of two clips) i'll end up with a single black frame between either the two clips i am dragging around or between one of the moved clips and one of the clips i didn't move. (did that make sense?)

has anyone else seen this? i seem to be able to make the black frames go away by selecting the clip after the black frame, right-clicking "select to end" and then dragging the whole rest of the timeline back and forth a little bit.

hmm. it also seems to happen sometimes when splitting.

thanks.

Under [Options], make sure you have "enable snapping" engaged. Check "Snapping" under Help - this might be your problem.

thanks but i have snapping on.

i find that sometimes snapping won't butt two clips up to one another, it either overlaps them by a couple of frames or leaves them a couple of frames apart. sometimes i have to turn snapping off to get the results i want.

here's my method. i drag a whole video worth of clips to the time line. i go through the clips and find parts i want to delete. then i split the clip and double-click the section i don't want. then i hit delete. is this the best method of editing? or is there a better way.

thanks.

I've seen this too. Do a search on "black frames" in the Vegas forum to see other messages. It may be a bug in the software. At least one user suggested quitting out of Vegas and reopening the program , which may get rid of the black frames. Maybe that will work in Screenblast as well.
