Black output on network renders

Hi all, I have read all the threads on the workarounds for network rendering and by not using a shared root I can get the render process to work and even keep the full, correct name but we are getting completely black video output. The file reports as the right length, but no video... Any one else able to solve this with another workaround not yet mentioned? I love Vegas, but this feature is not ready for primetime.....

Let’s get this working so I have a good excuse to buy & build my rendering farm!

Thanks

I definitely had a problem last nigh while network rendering a project which had media across multiple shares and an animated background in the veg did not make it into the rendered file (at least for some of the rendered segments). I did not have time to diagnose the problem so I just did a regular render. My guess was that one of the rendered machines could not see the share that contained the background.

I was surprised I saw no error message about this problem... but I guess the result is that whichever machine did the render of that segment it treated the problem like a "media not found" error and just ignored the error and left the media offline.

Up until that project I had rendered stuff where the files were all available from the same shared folder.

I would definitely agree that network rendering is in version 0.5 here... and that more work is needed. However I am still making good use of it and I will continue to work out the "features/bugs" as I go along.
