BLACK PREVIEW SCREEN Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD

All file types imported to Sony Vegas 10 has black screen preview and rendering comes out black. Sound plays fine. Help Please. YouTube has tut's on this for other versions of Vegas. Saying to down grade your QuickTime player. I have tried this. I have Windows 7 with quad core processor. I shouldn't be having these problems. HELP PLEASE!!

What kind of camcorder is your video coming from?

And have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime installed on your machine?

Have you been able to edit video in the past or have you just installed the program?

Any other details you can offer would be very helpful.

Thank you for your quick response. I have a new Sony Handycam HDR-CX300. I have downloaded Fraps video capture to capture on screen gaming. I downloaded Active X.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled QuickTime along with ITunes. I do have the newest versions. I have been able to edit a few times with the preview screen OK and rendering MPG4. I have never been able to direct upload to Youtube. I have updated my pc tech. info. if that helps.
