black title slide appears in rendered movie

DCA wrote on 12/3/2020, 8:14 AM

Vegas Movie Studio 17.0 is putting a black leader slide with the file name as a generic title/text in the middle. How do I get rid of this? I already had created a title text slide.

It doesn't show in the timeline, and I can't seem to find an option that turns it OFF. Please advise. Thanks

Its taking the "Give your movie a name" entry in the dialog above and putting it in there, but when I leave it blank, it says "Please enter a name for your movie file" (not "and I'll arbitrarily shove it in front w/o telling you" ; )

Can you explain this statement? Maybe include a screengrab (uploaded via this icon

Does you generic title state 'Placeholder'?

Hello, Jack and thanks for the response. It is using whatever text I put in the 'movie name' box. I see what it's doing but just don't want it in there.

Isn't there a way to turn this OFF?

Only workaround I can think of is to put spaces for the filename, so justja black screen shows up, but not sure if it would accept that.

What you see comes from video player, VLC or what ever and not from your video.

FayFen - A good thought, but I checked and it's not that, it's Vegas putting it in. I see it during rendering preview.

Jack S - I have an update to the above, I tried spaces in the 'Name' field, and it took it, but still put the name in there, which is the actual project file name on disk.

Just thinking there's a setting buried somewhere to disable this. I don't want this leader to be part of the finished product.

OK, I figured it out. There was a misplaced Title/Text object off-screen to the left of the movie/video at t=0. I deleted it, and the problem was solved. Thanks for the input.
