Blank space in finished video (slide show)

I prepared a 38 minute video/slide show. Everything looks good during the preview in VMS10, but after I rendered it and used DVDA5 to make the DVD, there is a 13 second black area. It happens on a photo that has a 13 second duration photo that I had zoomed and panned in the video. The music remains intact througout the blacked out section.

Why would it look good in VMS....but be a blacked out area in the DVD?

Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

What did you render it as to output it from Vegas Movie Studio?

Did you play this file to see if there is a blank spot at the end?

Did you include music? If the music is longer than the slideshow, that could account for the extra, blank video.

The blank space is in the middle of the slide show....and the music keeps playing through the blank space. The subject photo that is blank in DVDA....shows up ok in VMS. I rendered the project in VMS as mpeg and saved it to my hard drive.
In DVDA5, I opened it up to make the DVD.
I am now having long times to install it onto the Menu screen. Since I will have menu options to select various parts of the video, I have to install several copies onto the menu screen. I get very very long durations to install each copy onto the menu screen.....exceeding 15 minutes for each copy.
At least in one case, it finally installed after stating "program not responding." But I was patient and it eventually installed on the menu screen./

Hope this makes sense.

Is this a new problem or are we still working on your original problem, Icdrdan? I'm confused.

What type of file did you output from VMS? Have you played this file and looked to see if the blank spot is in your output, before you bring it into DVDA?

Steve:
This is the same project that I had problems with earlier. However, I MUST CONFESS....all my photos were way too large and that was my problem. After you suggested that I reduce the sizes of my photos....I reduced the size of about 3/4 of them and left the others as large sizes. (I think I was under the wrong impression that a larger photo (3 MP) would be better for zooming and panning at better quality)..... Bad idea, huh?
I finally reduced the size of ALL photos and everything works fine. I'm sorry if I caused you much grief in trying to resolve MY problem.

Thanks for all the effort that you have put in to help little ole me.
