Blu Ray Burner Not Working in 5.0b

I have an LG WH08LS20 Blu Ray burner, and DVD Architect 5.0b - along with Windows 7 Pro (64-bit). DVD Architect does not recognize the burner is there in the regular DVD mode when trying to burn a DVD - and when I flip over to Blu Ray mode, it crashes when going through the "make blu ray disc," right after the messages are displayed. Anyone have any suggestions? I've looked everywhere, and can't find anything. Thanks, Jeremy.

i have a suggestion but it won't thrill u...

i also have an LG burner and the moment i select "Make Blu-ray Disc" within DVD-A i get a BSOD... i can't even make an ISO, let alone burn a disc... no other BD or DVD app has any problems: Imgburn, Encore, CDBurnerXP, everything works... except DVD-A.

i ended up putting the LG burner in my old computer to burn BD ISO's using Imgburn: i make the ISO's in DVD-A in my main system, then transfer the ISO to the older one and burn from there.

u can try downloading newest LG firmware, but i've never seen a follow-up posting that said "that worked!". if it does work lemme know. :)

good luck

If you have not done so yet, I would highly recommend that you file your problem by email with Sony Support home page.

They will probably first give you the standard boiler plate suggestions, which you may have tried already, after which, if your problem persists, they will consider it seriously.

I was about to invest in an LG burner (BH10LS30) but seeing your problem, added to an unresolved problem I have been having with DA5 burning even SD discs, plus DA5 locking up completely when invoking "Make DVD" unless I disable the built in Blueray player, it all adds up to some quirk within DA5.

Both my above problems are logged with Sony Support.

If you file your problem with them, it may help finding the root cause quicker, whether it is a faulty workflow or a bug.

My system, by the way, is similar to yours (Win 7 x64, DA 5.0b).
See who gets the problem resolved first and share.
