Blu ray pop up type menus

Am I correct in understanding that DVDA can not do the unique menu styles that Blu rays are capable of?

It seems that DVDA just does menu creation exactly as what has been done for years with Dvds.

Or perhaps I am missing something.

And, just to be clear, are you talking about DVD Pro or Studio version?

The things you see in Hollywood Blu-ray discs are written in Javascript. Specifically, Java ME, and sometimes as BD-J.

Sony Entertainment does sell a product (BluePrint) that makes the Java ME code, but the last time I checked, it was about $50K.

I've got Vegas Pro with DVDA.

What I am looking for are for the type of menus that can float while the video keeps on playing. This is a big departure from the way DVD menus work.
