Blu ray preparing process takes HOURS!

I have movie studio12 and dvd architect 5. I rendered separate video (main concept blu ray format) and audio (dolby digital 5.1 with AGC on) to dvd architect. Then I set menus etc and when I go to burn it or prepare it, dvd architect tells me it has to recompress the audio even though it's ac3 so the render process takes about an hour and a half and THEN the preparing process says it's going to take like 70 some hours!! It doesn't matter if I select prepare to hard drive or burn it to a disc. What am I doing wrong that it takes that long?? I have a sony vaio laptop with 2.4 gHz processor and 4GB of ram which meets the requirements of the programs.

That's wild! 70 hours!?

Which Main Concept BluRay format did you use? Did you use Main Concept BluRay 1920x1080 60i 25 mbps?

And are you using DVD Architect or DVD Architect Studio? I ask because you're apparently editing with Movie Studio. Note that the Studio version of DVD Architect does not record 5.1 audio and prefers the Sony Wave64 44,100 16-bit Stereo PCM audio.

Is your laptop using a Pentium or single-core processor? I'm assuming it's at least a dual-core and possible a quad-core processor. A single-core 2.4 ghz would definitely take quite a while to transcode a BluRay disc!

BTW, how long is your video? Is there also video added to your menus or any other video or media besides the main feature.

I did use Main Concept Blu Ray 1920x1080 60i 25mbps and it's DVD architect studio but when I tried rendering the audio in the sony wave that you mentioned it wouldn't allow me to put it into the audio stream in DVD architect and it had the same name as the video. It's a dual core i3 processor. The video itself is only about 2 hours and the whole file is 21GB and there's not special effects or videos in the menus. I also downloaded and installed the latest updated version of dvd architect studio so I'm not sure what takes so long with it. I thought maybe it was the blu ray burner so I just set it to prepare it to my hard drive and it still takes over 70 hours. Like I said the rendering of the project took about and hour and a half and now it's "preparing" and it says it has about 83 hours left!

Try the simple way then.

Just output a video from Movie Studio using the Render As template:
Sony AVC/MVC AVCHD 1920x1080 60i.

That should bundle the audio and video in the same stream, so you can just load it right into DVD Architect Studio and burn your BluRay.
