Blue Ray won't play on older players

Running 5.2 build 124
Creating BR discs

I have a newer BR player I've been testing on and everything is fine as is for anyone with a new player (1 yr). Others have older BR players and get something like "disc not recognized".

I'm using Memorex discs. When I sent in a playable disc to the duplicator they said there was a problem with the disc (sectors I think). But they were able to get a clean copy.

I know there is no "Master BR" in DVDArch, but does anyone know what could be going on?

Your post is confusing because you suggest test and distribution with original burned Memorex discs at your location are okay....then you state you built a disc on Memorex media that was bad but had it replicated (NO) or duplicated (probably) -there is a difference you know in what that means?

Did your distribution to older players involved original burned media at your location or the duplicated discs burned by a house? or both?

1) Never use media that doesn't full pass QA testing.

2) Blu-ray players with manufacturing firmware and delivery after September 2011 are considered newer and different than those made before that date.

3) Burned media will not be as consistent from set-top player to another as replicated (pressed) media will be.

Sorry for the confusion.

Haven't gotten my discs from Disc Makers yet so not sure. They are being duplicated. When I sent in my master, which was really just a playable disc, tech said it had some errors, but they were able to work around somehow and I guess passes their QC tests now.

Only ones I've tested on various players are one's I've burned from DVDArch. Understand difference between replic and duplic. Don't know what actual media they are using. I'm using Memorex.

Every disc I've made in DVDArch has played fine in newer players. I'm also wondering if I'll have better luck with the duplicated discs as they've obviously undergone some QA/QC.

If you mean not playable, by the definition of seeming to sporadic behavior, it has a lot to do with the reflectivity of a burned disc. So since your house is merely burning them, this may or may not change.
I seriously doubt if they are using Memorex, and if they are do not pay them.

:)

In some players they just get "disc not recognized" or similar. They haven't gotten past that. So I'm guessing they have a player that won't see a BD-R or something related.

I never really understood exactly what they saw wrong with the BD-R from DVDArch but I'm hoping that since it will be corrected on their dups it will help.

disc not reckoned is a sure sign of poor quality media chosen for the bun - can in some cases reveal a hidden error of the authoring sequence for an auto-start file. issues that affect this are the total size of the volume burn and what file call is authored to be the autostart file.

In my experience, I never burn at the max speed, if I get an option. When sending discs for duplication, send two or three samples. The duplication house can sometimes correct errors from the other copies.
