Bluray freeze

Hi I'm not at my computer so I can't list specs but I'm trying to open an avc created in Vegas 10. It's a 90 minute video file that has previously opened fine on another render.

In DVDA it comes up as a black screen and on preview nothing plays. Just sits and looks at me, no playback.

Anyone have an idea how to troubleshoot?

Thx

Hard to say without knowing the video's specs.

Why are you using an AVC file to port the video to DVD Architect? Are you creating a DVD or BluRay -- and what are your Project Properties set to?

It's always to your advantage to send a file to DVD Architect that's as close to what DVD Architect will create for your disc as possible.

BTW, have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime installed on your computer? That too can affect how certain video files perform in Vegas and DVD Architect.

I'm doing 1440x1080, 8 mbps, 1.333 PAR sony avc. I'm creating a blu-ray. Since I'm rendering to the sony avc, I think it's pretty close to/exactly what DVDA requires, but I'll make sure nothing has been changed.
I am able to get a clip of a few seconds opened but not the long file.
My QT is up to date.

Also, I just imported the file back into a new vegas file, and it did the same thing. So apparently, the problem is in the rendering and not with DVDA. Will try a rerender.

Thanks

And what are your project properties in DVD Architect?

Rerendered with the sony blu-ray1440x1080,60i,8 template and got the same result. Then the program freezes.

DVDA properties:
blu-ray
avc 1440x1080 24 16:9 (single movie)

Now the file that had successfully opened in DVDA isn't opening.
Reinstall of DVDA and rendering a 14 minute portion didn't work. I'm gonna try rendering to blu ray anyway, assuming this is just an issue with previewing and the files are all intact.

Sorry. I can't tell what's going on. Maybe someone else can.

There's something called xdcam in the dropdown rendering menu, and DVDA seems to like this version. This might resolve the problem. Thanks.
