Blurry text

I'm trying to create a short video for my school, but when I add text to the video, the text looks all blurred. I've tried rendering in AVI and MPEG2, and watching it on my computer. I also tried looking at it in the preview window, and whenever I look at it, the text isn't very crisp at all. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I've never experienced anything like this, loren.

Have you tried experimenting with different fonts?

BTW, I prefer to use the outlined text on my clips. It's readable on any color background.

I didn't try different fonts, but I did notice that if I outlined the text it wasn't nearly as blurry, I would just prefer to not have the outline.

Don't know why your text looks blurry, but if outlines look crisper did you try making the outline the text color or background color? That way it won't be noticible. Or is that what you're talking about?

I have noticed that text sometimes looks blurry when viewing it within the Movie Studio preview window, but when I make a DVD it looks fine. Perhaps this is the case here.

When previewing, which preview mode are you in?

There is a selection just above the preview window that you can change (e.g. 'Best', 'Good', and two others that I can't remember).

You may be on one of the lower quality settings.

Thanks...

Al,

I haven't bothered to check this setting since I know things look fine in the finished product. Next time I get a chance I'll have a look.
