How are you viewing the MPEG-2? Is it on your PC via Windows Media Player? What does it look like on a TV

Hi, DSE. I'm using the rate which is default for DVD NTSC, 8,000,000. It's blue against a black background. Strange thing is, at work I have V4 and it renders it fine. Well, fine enough, it's readable but slightly feathered edges...

Yes, using Windows MP. It looks fine in the preview window, haven't hooked it up to the TV, will try that now ...

Using WMP.... you need to say NO MORE.. WMP does a terrible job of playing any video that is really intended for viewing on a TV. It particularly shows any text very very poorly. It will look entirely different when you view on a TV.
