Blurry Text in V5

Whether using generated text media or a JPG or PNG, the text in my MPEG-2 rendered files are "fuzzy." Scrolling text looks fine, but static text seems to be affected somehow. Tried 2-pass and AVI too, no difference. Text size doesn't seem to matter, tried 60 and 48. Any ideas?

What bitrate are you using? How contrasted is the text to whatever is beneath it?

How are you viewing the MPEG-2? Is it on your PC via Windows Media Player? What does it look like on a TV

Hi, DSE. I'm using the rate which is default for DVD NTSC, 8,000,000. It's blue against a black background. Strange thing is, at work I have V4 and it renders it fine. Well, fine enough, it's readable but slightly feathered edges...

Yes, using Windows MP. It looks fine in the preview window, haven't hooked it up to the TV, will try that now ...

Using WMP.... you need to say NO MORE.. WMP does a terrible job of playing any video that is really intended for viewing on a TV. It particularly shows any text very very poorly. It will look entirely different when you view on a TV.
