Blurry Videos

I am starting to use Movie Studio Platinum V 10 to edit a FlightSimulator X video. (I bought it a long time ago!)

I have created the video using FRAPS (Full Setting). The file is saved in AVI format, the screen resolution which I am using is 2560 x 1600. When I play back the AVI file before processing it in Movie Studio the scenery is crisp and doesn't shimmer.

I have dragged the video onto the time line and used the Movie Maker wizard to create the video. I have used the settings

Format: Video for Windows *.AVI
Template: Pal DV

When I play the video back on the same monitor the instruments are hard to read and the scenery is very blurry and shimmers.

Can someone please tell me what settings should I use to reproduce the original quality?

Thank you,
Tregarth

You must use the frame rate of the original video. Unlikely it is PAL 25.
Use HD. There is no earthly reason to use standard def.

Thank you very much for your reply; I apologise for the delay in replying as I have been waiting for a chance to play back the file on a projector.

The original file size in AVI format is 2.7GB. I have found a Format: Windows Media Video V11 (*.wmv)

The Template is 8MbpsHD 1080-30p video. This has compressed the file down to 325Mb.

I have played it back both on a PC and projector; there is an improvement but even quite large black text on a white background is not easy to read, which I guess is due to the compression.

Is there any way to edit the file and save in AVI format with no (or minimal) compression?

I appreciate you r help,
