Hi,

Do you know, how to download it as a file, import to Vegas and slow down with elastique ?

Best regards,

Sorry, I meant viewing. I wish there was a way to change my subject header?

Did you see the 3D Text?

BCC7 is really gonna rock when they add that! It is exciting times for Vegas Pro 10 users. ;-)

Oh yes, I saw the 3D text!

Looks really great and really amazing that you can do it right into Vegas!

Yes, I felt bad for Dirk and was thinking the same thing. Always have a bottle of water whenever you're doing a live presentation.

There's lots of great information in that video though. If anyone was wondering what BCC 7 can do, it will be very helpful to see.

I am still trying to figure out if I should go BCC 7 or RED 5, that is if I had one to pick. And these 2 products do have many features in common, where more confusion.

I know RED 5 will have better integration with Vegas 10 than RED 4, but not available yet, so I can't compare both.

My basic needs are motion tracking text and photos (which BCC can't do, but could in the future from what Boris mentioned on the Cow forum), chromakey, text, 3D text and several fx likes flares, witness protection... would also like to have a 6 wheel color corrector (presently using AAV ColorLab)

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Rob

Hi Rosto99,

I have decided to buy BCC7. Most important factors for me :

1) produce SloMo with help of Opcial Flow, also time remapping,
2) set for SD to HD conversion (UpRez will be very soon),
3) motion tracking (I'm waiting for info if Corner Pin and Match Move will be included in update),
4) impressive set of compositing tools (believe it will be main subject of next tutorial from Boris),
5) 3D text and eps compositing tools with defermers (very soon).

All of that was impossible or very time consuming in Vegas.

Effects are not very important for me, but I have discovered that some of them (like Prism or Turbulence) are very nice.

I have also info from Boris support, that they are working on solution to offer 32 pixel colour depth for all plugins and compositing modes included in BCC7. Boris is developing BCC Units and it looks also very promissing.

RED looks like tool for graphic designers - I'm more oriented on movie content with composited basic (but atractive) text or eps components. I prefere to buy from Digital Juice some ready to use templates, then produce them with help of Wacom (knowing my graphic skills, suppose that effect would be not very fantastic).

PS. AAV ColorLab is evenement for me, just simple idea, but very in target, I love it.

FOR TLF : Thank you for tip. In meantime I have just grabbed audio with help of ACID and all nevralgic points are under control now. But will use your tip in future.

Best regards,

"...they are working on solution to offer 32 pixel colour depth for all plugins and compositing modes included in BCC7."

is there more info on this? i'm looking at options for CC'ing RGB media above 8-bit in Vegas and BCC7 looks like it may be useful in this regard.

Hi robwood,

This is all, that I know in this moment. This is ongoing development and they don't want to (as usualy software suppliers do) incur commitment in this issue. But looking on expresions from the most experienced Vegas users on this forum, there was a botleneck in plugin SDK, which had curbed development. Now it's removed. Don't expect that suppliers of very expensive sets of plugins will appeal for Sony Vegas market, but Boris was always present here (with better or worse effects). I have asked about playing with colours in BCC7, you should download demo and check it. Relying on Boris support statement, internal precision of BCC7 effects is mostly 32bits. They will work properly in 32bit projects. Some of them (like Optical Flow or Deinterlacer) will produce artefact and this will push you to switch project to 8bit.

"internal precision" means that effect has to comply to project settings. But looking for other hosts, BCC7 offer 16bit pixel colour depth. This means that Boris is now ready to export data to host with 16bit pixel colour. Unfortunatelly this mode is not present in Vegas.

I watched the forst half of it, and have the following coments:
First, i think the BCC 7 means a lot to Sont Vegas, you can now do things inside Vegas which before required After Effects.

When it comes to the rpesentation itself, I wonder if it was much planned beforehand. For such a presnetation, I want more speed, a higher tempo, a plan. I think it was too much back and forth.
For the chroma key, I learnbt something new, and missed examples of adjusting the Matte Choker, amon others.

There is one effect I almost can not live without, and that is the Edge Feather in Reg Giant Key Correct Pro (Aftewr Effects).
I use it almost everywhere where I have an alpha channel. If BCC 7 has an equivalent, I would like it demonstrated because I want to add it as the last FX in the chroma key chain. The webinar woman stands out as superimposed, regardless. An edge feather would solve some (all) of this. Maube the matte choker is the right FX, but too much time was spent on demonstrating Vegas features, and jumping back an forth.
All in my humble opinion of course.
Ingvar

Thanks RRA and thanks for input.

I have tried RED 4 but will put it aside for now and should go BBC 7, but I still have few details to sort out.

I was disapointed to find out that there is no pixel chooser in the Lens Flares FX. So I have to look for some workarounds in that matter.

Back to testing...

Anyone know if the Bcc Sphere and Cylinder are included?

They are included in the base AE package and are very useful primitives for building 3D objects.

Bob.

Hi Bob,

Spere is included (in Distortion section), Cyclinder is not. Suppose it will be added in update.

is it known if the following will later be available for Vegas?

------

COLORS/BLURS
3 Way Color Grade (never enough cc tools)
Correct Selected Color (never enough cc tools)
Z-Blur (i get requests for rack focus)

DISTORTION/PERSPECTIVE
2D Particles
UpRez
Pan & Zoom (i would like to try a diff pan/crop than the 1 in Vegas... i've had strange interludes with keyframes during sessions where there's changes to or removal of certain keys in the event timeline)

EFFECTS
DeNoise
Match Grain

TIME
Optical Stabilizer (Flow is great, but Stabilize would be useful too)

------

i think that's it... there's a few interesting ones absent (like the generators), but the above are tools i could use daily/weekly.
