Boris Continuum Complete Crash

Luciano wrote on 12/6/2010, 8:31 PM
I have installed the trial version of BCC in Win 7 64bit to use with Vegas Pro 10. It seems very interesting/exciting, except for the fact that it is rendering my Vegas 10 unstable. It keeps crashing.

I have uninstalled the BCC and Vegas is functioning well again.

Any clue as to what the problem could be? Anyone else experiencing this problems?
Thanks!

The exact same thing happened to me but my system is Vista 64 bit. Vegas never! crashes on me, so when I kept having crashes right after installing Boris I just killed those plugins right away before I lost my sanity. Don't know why it crashes though. I'm sure someone around here has a good idea though.

Try the Boris board support, they have been very good in contacting me via email. I rate their support pretty high, so far. But it's not been long.

Hello, I think the crashes are something to do with the BCC chroma key. I installed the trial and tried to use the Chroma key on a small avi file. After a while Vegas crashed. Now I'm back to Vegas without BCC. I'm using Vegas 64 bit on Windows 7 64 bit.

It is more than just the chroma key. BCC7 causes my vegasx64 10a to crash all of the time-to the point of being completely unusable. I got error messages listing almost every boris plugin as the modules in question. I've passed the data on to Boris in a support ticket there.

I am running BCC in Win 7 64bit and find it very unstable, many crashes.

Did file in 2 support tickets but haven't heard from BorisFx yet.

But they are aware about it, you might want to check the Crashes in Vegas Pro 10 thread on the creativecow forum

I am just not use to have Vegas crash so it can be frustrating at times but hopefully it should get better on the next update.

I can live without effects, but I can't live with an unstable platform. Many years ago I wrestled endlessly with Acid, Vegas and others continually crashing. I'd dream about what I could accomplish if only my computer would stop crashing. Thankfully, those days are over now, but those terrible memories are still with me, so now any plugin that adds instability to Vegas is immediately scrapped.

Confirmed. I also had problems with any of the plug-ins. In fact, Vegas itself is less stable when BCC is installed. Crashes that I had experienced with BCC installed seemed to be resolved after I uninstalled it.

I started this thread about a month ago.

Apparently no one bought BCC7 until now. Anyway, as noted above, BorisFX is aware of the problem and apparently it's a SONY thing because the fix will be in the upcoming 10.b patch (so we're told).
