Boris Continuum7 plug in help

I debated with myself whether I should post BCC plug in questions here, but this is a vegas application and the only forum available to BCC users appears to be the Cow and I see older questions in there with no replies... so forgive me if for some this appears off topic.

Thanks to the forum guys who pointed out this product to me for doing some simple tracking work.

First attempt at using this product. Tried to use corner pinning. Following John Rofrano's tutorial. Hit track on the fly and see in the preview window the message "Move the timeline cursor to a previously tracked frame and click the clear render cache button. Resume tracking from that point."

It's as though the tracker thinks I had started a track and lost it. But I have not tracked anything yet so I'm confused. If I turn on "view preprocessed source" I see the corner pins and I can set them in place. But when I toggle preprocess view off I see that message again. I hit shift B and I get a dynamic ram preview but the corner pins don't move and I get no track. I try moving the cursor around on the timeline and tried clearing cache but nothing works. I'm guessing this is something simple, but all of the tutorials show guys setting their pins, hitting shift B and it works.

I also just tried Match Move and get the same problem. I'm missing something here.

Thanks for any HELP!

OK, so let me answer my own question. It appears these trackers want the event your tracking to start at frame one of "the timeline" not just frame one of the event or range you're tracking. Odd requirement. So I guess you can't just plop a tracking effect into the middle of your project? Seems unnecessarily restrictive though perhaps there's some technical reason for it - or perhaps I'm still don't understand what's going on under the hood. After I successfully tracked a replacement for a stop sign. I tried moving the events to a different point in the timeline and the tracking got all jumpy and out of whack. I moved it back to the start and it still seemed messed up but not quite as bad. Is tracking data relative to the timeline? Ah the joys of learning. At least I'm further along than I ever got with After Effects.

Or press enter instead of shift B

You can also hit K and then immediately L on the keyboard to track for a slo track when the track gets lost. Or right arrow key for tracking frame for frame

If I'm understanding your issue, I have found that clicking on the event and selecting it as the range works best. Also, sometimes trying different preview settings can make a difference as far as memory used.

Thanks for the replies. I have successfully built a track and attached a transparent png to it effectively replacing a stop sign with my own. Looks fine and I'm generally doing all the things you guys have suggested. I got 12 gigs memory with 6 dedicated to DR so that shouldn't be the issue.

This issue I have is that I can only get the tracker to start by having the cursor on frame 1 of the event AND that has to be frame 1 of the timeline as well. Is this normal? If so, I can only create one tracking event per project unless I render to new track and move that event to later in the track. If I try moving the tracking event itself the tracking info appears to get messed up.

Help came from Boris and I'm glad I called as this is not covered in the help files as far as I can tell. In order to get tracking to work when your event is not on frame 1 of the timeline you have to change the Tracker start frame to equal the project's frame where your event starts.
