Boris FX crashing in V8

I've got an absolutely beautiful chroma key filter setup going with Boris FX, and now I'm working on a project full of chroma keyed clips. My problem is that once I get thirty or forty clips with the Boris FX filter on them, Vegas starts to repeatedly crash with the following error:

An error occured while processing the undo buffer. You should save your work immediately using a new project filename and restart Vegas Pro.
Sometimes when this happens I can't actually save my work at this point because the error message loops back again each time I try to close the box.

Right now I have two backups of the project VEG and I'm saving every few seconds so as not to lose too much time each time it crashes. I can't use Vegas 9 with Boris FX yet because of the problem I outlined in http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=653761&Replies=3this thread.[/link]

Is there a limit on how many instances of Boris FX you can use in a project? I have four GB of RAM and plenty of free hard disc space. Is there some sort of workaround so that I don't have to inch along like I am right now?

It's getting worse and worse as I accumulate more clips with Boris FX filters on them. I'm at the point now were I can only work for a second or two between crashes. Yeah I know the solution: divide it up into a bunch of small projects. That is going to take hours longer than it should, and I'm going to end up having to render out the sections in a super large format that allows alpha layers.
