Boris FX in Vegas

I have the Boris Grafitti version that came with Vegas 6+DVD. I thought you could work with Boris right from Vegas without importing
the Boris project. It seems like the only place I see Boris is under programs as a seperate program. It opens and is there but appears to be running as a stand alone program. Am I doing something wrong or looking in the wrong place in Vegas??

The Boris interface is the same for both the plugin and the stand alone.
In Vegas, when adding an event FX, select Boris. When the effect window appears, you'll see the Boris logo. Click on it, and boris will open.
I hope I've explained it correctly for you. I'm using it with Vegas Movie Studio, which I'm just beginng to learn.
And I just bought the full version of Graffiti two days ago, so I have a LOOOOOONG way to go. :-)

Don't expect there to be a live update of your timeline in Boris, though. That's one of my biggest complaints against the Vegas/Boris combo (my only one, really). You will only get a singe frame from your timeline in Boris to work from - unless you jump through a few hoops.
I really wish Boris worked in Vegas like it does in PP, Avid, Speed Razor and probably a bunch more, but I've been told to not hold my breath.
I like both programs so much, it's frustrating they don't play nicely together.

My problem is that when I open up event FX in Vegas, Boris does not show up there. It only shows up in my main program menu on the computer. Can I try to do a reinstall of only Boris from the Vegas CD. Also I noticed there is a Boris update listed in the downloads section, I have not run this update, could that be the problem?

Dang it... I don't remember how to solve this problem.
IF memory serves (which it rarely does), I THINK you have to move/copy a DLL from one location to another in Vegas.
I found the solution on a bovine forum and don't remember it anymore. Perhaps someone else here can lend a more helpful hand.

Actually, I think to get Boris programs to show up in the FX and Transition tabs you simply need to buy the full version of Boris and while installing a requestor will ask what editors you have. Check the box for Vegas. Note that the LTD versions are standalone.

I find the integration between the two so bad I wish the full versions had a renderer like LTD. Alas, they don't so you are forced to import your Boris work through the FX tabs on empty events. I second the wish for Vegas and Boris to develop a better workflow. Right now each company points at the other as to why the integration stinks.

The integration and the single frame viewing are the reasons I haven't bought FX yet. I keep having alot of trouble getting Motion Tracker or Corner Pinning to work right because of this.
