There IS a way, but frustratingly enough, I've forgotten it!!!!
There is some dll or similar that has to be dragged into some Vegas folder in order for Boris to show up as FX or Transitions. A long while ago, I found the info "on another board" and haven't been able to find it again. grrr...
Ok, now that you've brought it in - now make it work the way of other FX plugins? I need to take Vegas Preview memory to ZERO; need to work entirely within BG; I've needed to use Frameserver to get anything like a previewing experience; synching Vegas stuff while working within BG is very "interesting"; I cannot synch Vegas audio to that which you are now working on within BG3. If the answer was about getting BG into Vegas use the suggestions above. If you are expecting it to WORK like other FX plugins - I haven't found a "suitable" way.
Do I think BG is amazing software? - YES. Do I want it to work more intuitively with Vegas? YES PLEASE!
I have to chime in here. After buying the upgrade to FX-8 and Graf-4 based on the LTD versions bundled with Vegas, I have been extrememly dissappointed. Not with the Boris products themselves but with the level of integration with Vegas. It is a stretch to even say they are compatible. The list of problems between Graf/FX and Vegas is long indeed. What saddens me most is that both companies are aware of the issues and don't seem to be doing anything to resolve them. Boris claims the problems are all with the way Vegas passes structures to them and Sony, well they don't say anything...
At this point I've written off my $300 upgrade as an expensive lesson... although, I hold out hope that the engineers on both sides will resolve these problems. Boris products nicely fill some weak points in Vegas like extruded text and motion stability.
Really enjoyed working with the LTD versions and was also considering to upgrade but was not sure about the level of integration. Reading "that both companies are aware of the issues and don't seem to be doing anything to resolve them" made my decision not to go for that upgrade untill I read better news in this forum.
So indeed fingers crossed!
"although, I hold out hope that the engineers on both sides will resolve these problems. "
I am not so optimistic. I was basically told by members here on this list and elsewhwere that Sony isn't likely to change the way they pass info (to better handle the way Boris uses that info) and Boris isn't likely to change their program just for Sony. I was very dissapointed to hear all that. Coming from an old (ancient, now) program called Speed Razor, where Boris integrated absolutely perfectly, I was completely spoiled. Now I'm forced to use Boris (which I couldn't live without) as a stand-alone. Not nearly so sweet.
