Boris Grafitti & Vegas

I just put build 670 of Vegas 12 on my computer. I can now leave my AMD card on no matter what kind of file I am rendering to.
I still have a problem opening Boris Grafitti. When I click to open the interface (over an .mxf file from a Canon XF-300 or 305) Vegas crashes as soon as I cleck the open interface icon. I works fine if I am trying to use Boris with a .mov file or an .m2t file, but many of my projects are shot with the Canon XF cameras & I can't open the Boris Grafitti interface over an .mxf file in Vegas. Any suggestions as to how to fix this? Is anyone else having any problems using Boris with Vegas?

I regularly use Boris Red 5 with Vegas Pro 12 without any problems. Which release of Grafitti do you have?

Version 6
I now have Red too, so maybe I just need to learn to use Red for graphics. I use Grafitti because I have several templates saved which are normally easy to change as necessary for new versions of projects. I like it because it's fast.

I just tried & Red interface crashes Vegas as well. These crashes only happen with .mxf files. I sometimes use .mov and .m2t files and have no problems with Boris on those files. Only Boris on an .mxf file crashes Vegas.
Do you ever use .mxf files (in my case, from a Canon XF-305 camera)?

I've not tried the mxf format, as I generally work only with XDCAM-EX in an MP4 wrapper, mov and uncompressed avi. On rare occasions I will work with m2t. In any case, I will test Red with mxf files either later tonight or tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

P.S.: Are you aware that you can open Graffiti files in Red if those are the sort of templates you mentioned? If you were talking about Vegas templates then you need to apply the Vegas template to a clip, bring up the Graffiti interface and save it as Graffiti file. Then when you apply Red to a clip from Vegas, you can read the Graffiti file that you previously saved and then save it as a Vegas/Red template within Vegas.

Thank you. That is helpful.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. Anyway, I dropped some MXF files into the Vegas timeline, added various Boris Red effects via the Boris Red plugin, went in and out of the Boris user interface and back to Vegas without any problems whatsoever.

Note that my MXF files are rewrapped XDCAM EX files taken with a JVC GY-HM750 camera at 1920x1080 30p.
