Boris red dll

I did a dreaded PC prep and I need to use Boris Red 4 in Vegas 10 as a plugin as I use Reds 3D text and extrusion for logo etc.

In the past I had to install and activate Vegas 8 which I still have and then install Red and copy Red dll to Vegas 10.
Is there another convenient way?

I have Vegas 11 but don’t use it = can’t remember exactly but it had issues and I have Red 05 don’t use it cause it had issues with Graphics cards
ONLY Vegas 10 and Red 04 played nicely together.

Since Red v4 is not Vegas Pro 10+ aware, I really don't see any other options. Ideally, Red v5 would be the best solution.

When you had graphics card issues with Red v5, did you try turning off the OpenGL Mode under the Preview menu? Also, I don't know which version of Red v5 you tried, but they are currently at version 5.4.1, which is quite a number of releases (21 to be exact) past the original v5. Perhaps your issue has already been addressed. Lastly, you could also post your question on the Boris Creative Cow forum, which is regularly answered by Boris employees.

The latest version of Boris RED 5.4 with Vegas Pro 12.0 works fine for me.

My Boris TV Webinar: Professional Titles and VFX in Sony Vegas Pro 11 shows me working with Vegas Pro 11.0 and Boris Red 5 without any problems so I assure you, they do work fine together. Something is not right with your workstation if they don't work for you.

You should contact Boris FX and get them to help you.

Thanks for the heads up Peter, will download the updates and check how that goes as a stand alone

Jr thanks for tutorial looks good
BUT!!!! the issue I have with Vegas 12 and 11 is that some things aren’t working = Animation tab for some FX and tabs with Pro Type Titler “which I use a lot “,among other things. So what’s the point of up grading Vegas and Red, if you hav ta go back to Vegas 10 where everything works with Boris Red 4.

Hopefully Boris also updated the info of which graphics cards are working etc the last time I checked They hadn’t.

I got hooved from Creative Cow years ago because I had the audacity of complaining about a rude e-mail they sent out and asked if creative cow was in fact the same golden calf mentioned in the bible! It was a swift hoof I might add.
