Boris title studio crashes V21

I can't seem to get the Boris title studio to work at all. 9 out of 10 times it crashes Vegas 21 at the first small window appearing, and if I get it to open, none of the presets work ( all stay black ) and the play button also does nothing.
Has anyone gotten it to work with V21?

Thanks!

when I open the stand alone version and click on " about", nothing appears. So I'm afraid I can't tell.

The .exe file used to install Title Studio should include the version number in its name.

Just to be sure, you do have a paid version of Title Studio purchased from BorisFX rather than the 'free' version which has sometimes been offered with Vegas Pro purchases? The reason for this is that the free version is not a plugin and so does not work in Vegas Pro (or any other NLE for that matter). From other forum reports over the years, the free Titlte Studio version is a demo version only and has no export options (e.g. mp4, .mov).

@Mindmatter Hi, sorry, the plugin version works & a saved project in the standalone version then opened in Vegas21 plugin works.

Thanks, I have the free version that came with Vegas ( was it V19? not sure ).

@Gid Ok good to know. Must be system related then. I'll keep trying to debug.

@Mindmatter Mine's the latest Continuum version, so sorry can't really help with whatever you have, good luck 👍

PS, the free version wasn't the plugin version was it? I thought it was just the free standalone with no export option as @Dexcon mentioned, did it used to work for you in Vegas ?

@Mindmatter  ... for Gid's suggestion to work, you have to have a purchased OFX version of Title Studio installed. I'm sure that Gid's suggestion is that the free standalone can be used to create a title and then save it as a project file (like a .veg file in Vegas Pro) and then import that Title Studio project file into a paid Title Studio OFX version that is accessible in Vegas Pro.

Unfortunately, if you don't have a paid OFX version of Title Studio, any title that you create in the free standalone version is not useable in any way, fashion or form in Vegas Pro or any other NLE. The free version is purely to test it out (though unusable) and if you like it to buy it so that it can be used on an NLE.

@Dexcon Correct, it's saved as a .blu file from the standalone & can be opened in the plugin version.

@Mindmatter You didn't say if it used to work? & if you only have the free version does it show as an fx in Vegas?

Jack S wrote on 10/13/2023, 8:40 AM

From his OP it looks as if he has the plugin version.

@Mindmatter Have you tried a full Vegas Pro reset? This can sort out many problems.
