Well I'll be damned! We'd been hearing this rumor for awhile now, but it's good to finally see it come to be. Could it be that the days of 'render all effects to an uncompressed .avi, then take it into Vegas' are coming to an end?
Congrats SoFo! I've heard NOTHING but great things about Red, so I can't wait to pick up a copy of Red (assumably an educational version for now) to see how it runs...

As a RED 3 beta tester, I knew but couldn't disclose this even though I saw several tantalizing posts here doubting that Boris products would ever make it to Vegas. I'm happy to see that Boris have "outed" themselves so that Vegas users know what's on the horizon for them.:-)

I'm brand new to Vegas, having just switched over from Premiere/Canopus DV Storm combo after trying the demo of Vegas 4 +DVD and finding it irresistably loaded. But I likely wouldn't have made the switch had I not known that RED 3 integration was on the way. With the two products, I'm quite understandably feeling like I own the best video production software combo that any REASONABLE amount of money can buy.:-)

Damn it looks good! And expensive. And I agree it would be the best combo.

$1,500.00 for the package! YIKES! Expensive, to say the least!

I'm considering the purchase!

That's why I'm considering the educational version to start out with. It will run about half the price (typically), and gives you an upgrade path (also, typically) later on. Sure, you can't use it professionally (at least, not 'till you upgrade), but it beats the hell out of a cracked copy, IMHO.
The price may be steep, but from everything that I've heard, it's well, WELL worth it. I cannot, however, say as I've ever really had a chance to use it.
