I have both and they co-exist very nicely.

I bought the Pro Pack version of 9 which included the NewBlue effects/transitions but only Platinum 10, not the 'suite'. All the NewBlue stuff was found by v10 and installed automatically. Apparently, I have to keep 9 installed for the NewBlue stuff to stay. Now I find that the NewBlue offerings in v10 are somewhat different than those in v9 and I wish I had spent just a little more.

They work fine together, even simultaneously. There is one thing to be aware of though. Any .vf file saved in version 10 can't be opened in version 9 (actually this applies to any versions; older versions can't open newer version project files). So, if you have an important project in the works from version 9 you should make a copy of the .vf file and use this copy in version 10. That way if it doesn't work out for whatever reason, you can still use version 9 on the original project file.

Ken,

Note that I had V8 when I installed V9. I then deleted V8. The new blue fx still stayed and were recognized by VMS 9. I have not yet deleted VMS 9 (installed 10), but I would expect the same behaviour. If I recall NB Support also said that this was possible. The key thing was to install the correct version of VMS before installing the NB FX that came with it (could not install V9 without V8 and try to install NB FX that came with 8).

That's good to know Mark. I wondered about that. Thanks for sharing.
