Bottleneck at 44%

After months of trouble free experience with Vegas 12 (726 and prior) I ran into a problem with opening a veg file. It spins its wheels at 44%. as if something is holding it there. It is a short with multiple events with a time stretch (compress) on each. Color push from BCC with simple fades and short loops from Acid Music A New Blue animated title is also at the beginning.

Nothing any more complicated than I've done before. Any answers or suggestions to get it back in gear. Every other veg I tried opened without problem..

Remove the .bak from the .veg.bak file and try it?

Thanks mv10. I tried your suggestion, but came up with the same result.

I've found that deleting the .sfk files (.sfk0 and sfk1) from the file folders has been quite successful at overcoming the hang problem when loading a veg file. Alternatively, just moving the .sfk files to another folder will work just as well as deleting them because Vegas wants to find the .sfk files only in the folder/s holding the original media. My experience has been that Vegas should then successfully open the veg project and will then recreate the .sfk files back into the original folder/s. It's sort of like a "refresh".
The projects where this has happened have been fairly heavy in Sony and third party FX (e.g. NewBlue, ProDad and Red Giant), and I suspect its one of the third party FX which may be creating a corrupted .sfk file - that's only a guess on my part though.
I hope that this will solve the problem if you give it a try.

Dexcon, I deleted the files and there again I had no luck. Leads me to think there is an issue with the 3rd party in the room. As i said I was doing pretty much the same thing except for the.time stretch. I should add that I split some of the events to remove unwanted content if that may be a contributor. I just don't have the knowledge of the zero's and one's to figure it out.

Thx for the suggestion.

If you can still access to bak file, try open that version, or any previous project VEG, then try RE-open the problematic VEG project.

And, how long do you wait ? Try give it more time. (if no message box of 'Vegas Pro has crashed and send report' appear)

Set, I went back to the previous project and it still sat there spinning its wheels. However, I went back to a project previous to that and the .veg I needed lit right up... Hmmmnn

Thanks, I really do appreciate you and everyone here for your efforts.

Hopefully, when I try to bring it up on its own it straightened itself out.
