Break-up and flicker with panning shots?

Hello

I’m digitising straight from a Digibeta camera, composite feed from the video out, fed through a Sony PC120 MiniDV camcorder. (A bit of a bodge I know!)

My problem is slight break up/ flicker appearing with panning shots on the final avi files. I used reduce interlaced flicker, without much success.

Also if anyone can suggest a good video card for bypassing the MiniDV camcorder I would appreciate some feedback.

Many thanks for those who reply.

Phil

Are you really certain this is happening?

The internal preview monitor in Vegas can display these artifacts when none actually exist.

If you want to ingest DigiBeta the right way, you need a SDI card from BMD or AJA and a reasonably fast RAID 0 disk array. Doubt it'll make any difference to what you think you're seeing though.

Hi Bob,

Do you mean that this is a quirk with Vegas, and that once though final render all will be good?

Thanks for recommendations.

Cheers
