Breaking glass effect

For anyone remembering the old Video Toaster effect "Breaking glass", I need to make a still image "breal" like shattered glass and fall off the bottom of the screen. Can this be done using VEgas?

I would also love to know the answer to this Q. I have seen it and would love to imitate as it is very unique and can really be impactful with the right sound effect, you know?

Digital Juice used to have this effect (in multiple variations) in their SWIPES package Volume 40 SCREEN SMASHERS. Both SD and HD versions were included in the package. With the choice of two different sound effects for each animation.

However, this series is no longer being sold by DJ.
