"Breathing" video levels

I recently shot a lecture with a "inexpensive" JVC hard drive camcorder. On playback, the video levels "breath". My guess is that there was a white board in the edge of the frame thart was "too hot" and the camera was trying to figure out the correct levels. OK. Well, then is there a way in Vegas 8.0 to "pick" a point of level and apply it to the entire clip? Thanks a bunch.

Mike Crash's Auto Levels http://www.mikecrash.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=13. A bit weird to use but worked for me once in a broadly similar situation. There's also a version somewhere that has a lock/hold option.

Fauss: "There's also a version somewhere that has a lock/hold option."

It's on the same site you linked to. Just a bit further down the page:

"Description: The Levels Correction filter is based on Auto Levels filter, but it can freeze correction in time."
