Easy one this. Going from AVI to a render he can read - not wanting to UG to MP4 player - seesshhh ..

What MOV format from within V6 for him?

The QT dialogues give you quite a few choices in Vegas apart from H.263

Quicktime is free and plays back mp4s pretty well. Why doesn't he want to upgrade?

It's not free, but the Showtime 2 media player that comes with the latest version of Nero does an even smoother playback of MP4s than Quicktime.
