Bug in Binstructure

Wolfgang S. wrote on 7/27/2004, 11:30 PM
Sometimes, when I sort my clips in a binstructure, I find that the clips become mixed up between different bins suddenly.

In detail, suddenly a bin is marked by the software without doing something, similar if you would rename a folder in the windows explorer. After that, I cannot select this bin again with the mouse - but after that I find that the clips from this specific bins in other bins. After shutting down Vegas, and starting it again, I can access this bin again - but the clips are now in other bins.

I have not seen this bug before in other Vegas-Versions - but now I have that issue in 5.0b. Anybody here with a similar experience?

Hi - your, "I have not seen this bug before in other Vegas-Versions - but now I have that issue in 5.0b. " . do you mean you weren't aware of it previously OR you have used this approach AND have not had this issue before V5b? I ask this because others have made "comments" about the Bins and I am just wanting to be sure that the "issue" you are experiencing is EITHER a new one OR that you've just become aware of it - yeah?

Well, I have not seen this issue in Vegas-4. So, I was not aware of it in older versions, and I did not have this issue earlier. So, for me it is a new one.

On the other hand, maybe other people had a similar experience with older versions (5.0, 5.0a, 4.0x). So, there is the possiblity that this could be an olde bug, but that I do not know that.

Where have you seen that "comments about the Bins"?

Why does the Media Pool still collapse all bins sometimes when undoing a file placed on the timeline?!! This has been a problem since I can remember, but now there is a new annoyance; sometimes an open (and highlighted) bin stays highlighted when selecting another bin and the newly selected will just have a box around it. Has anyone else experienced this?
TIA,
Randy

What Randy reports here takes also place for me - I can confirm that there is also a "box around" the bin name.

Looks like as shown as here in our german spoken Vegas forum:

@ SONY,

is there a solution to that bug, at least with further updates???

Would like to post that also in our German spoken forum, since I am one of the admins running www.vegasvideo.de/forum.

Has anyone noticed that when you save a project and created trimmed copies of your media, any clips that are subclips will not come out right? They revert to the orginal clips starting point. This was the case with 5.0a but I have not tried 5.0b. Has this been fixed?

Thanks,

Marc

Yes I have been getting this too in v4 and also when saving trimmed clips; the trimmed video goes to the main directrory with the project but the audio goes to the media bin. I thought I was going mad - so after all it is another Vegas Bug.
