Bug?: Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000006)

PJ_Beans wrote on 8/1/2017, 4:59 PM

Hello all,

New to the forums, so please don't kill me if I put this in the wrong section or titled it incorrectly. So I am using Magix Movie Studio Platinum 14.0 build 122. It worked fine and dandy except for today when I tried to start it, it got stuck loading on "Create File I/O Manager" with the error "Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000006)."

I tried restarting my PC, but the problem persisted, so I did some googling, but all I could find was the error "Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005)" but I tried to use that solution anyway. When I started Magix, I went in the task manager and forced closed "File I/O surrogate (not visible)." and the main Movie Studio program. That didn't work.

Any help is appreciated.

(just a guess based on other solutions) What if you only kill the File I/O task, but not the main program?

I am having a wild stab in the dark here for you.
The Error Report/Fault Module is telling us where the problem lies.
Fault Module:        C:\Program Files\VEGAS\Movie Studio Platinum 14.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\rm9plug\pncrt.dll

I Google searched "rm9plug" and found this result here:
http://www.processlibrary.com/en/directory/files/rm9plug/2052/
rm9plug seems to be for Sound Forge

Do you have Sound Forge installed on your computer?
Did you link Sound Forge in the Movie Studio preferences?

I recommend you first try resetting Movie Studio and if you have Sound Forge installed as well, reset that program to.

Reset instructions:
Close program/s.
Hold down the CTRL + SHIFT keys at the same time AND ALSO AT THE SAME TIME double click program icon on Desktop to Boot program.
Window will pop up.
Select Delete all Cached Application Data and then press Yes.
This will restore program/s to Factory Default Settings.

Does this fix error ?
If it does not, try re-installing Movie Studio.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Later today I'll try this, but I do not believe I have Sound Forge installed. It doesn't come with the suite does it?
