build 300 - CORRUPTING FILES IN PREVIEW

I upgraded to Build 300 and now files that opened normally in the previous version are opening and corrupting in the preview and also in the render. I realized it's only happening with moving images.

I'm also wondering about a possible review problem too as my issue is not exactly the same as yours but only happens in preview on moving images. This is what i have:

I noticed in panning shots the preview will show some slight tearing, this remains even with wait for vertical sync enabled in preview properties. Same when CPU 770 GPU is used or RTX 4080 super.

Same if setting Vsync is set on in NVIDIA panel option for Vegas specified in program setting. Also same with latest driver 552.12. (Also V21 did not like me updating the video driver while still open).

It is not mxcompoundplug as So4compoundplug does the same.

Not present in V20.

Also does it with GPU acceleration off.

Does not do it when playing media from media tab only on timeline.

Media Sony 4K XAVCS

Maybe some of the forum testers can help?

Please be aware that project versioning was incremented for this update due to some fixes that resulted in compatibility issues with previews versions of VEGAS Pro. This means that projects saved with build 300 will not be able to be opened in earlier builds of VEGAS Pro 21.

Thanks for your help friends, I still haven't solved it. As I can't stop working, I went back to version 20, as I couldn't go back to the Build before 300. I'll wait a few days to try again!

I'll wait a few days to try again. But I would like to say that this error also happened with Nikon files (MOV) and only in videos with movements.

You can revert to build 208 by uninstalling VEGAS using add remove programs and then reinstalling it if you need. You can download it from here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-where-can-i-download-vegas-pro-and-other-vegas-software--104782/

Thanks for the MediaInfo.

If you could please help diagnose issues with 300 when you get time that would be great- any samples of media that don't work well would be great to download from you for testing.

The other info we could use is what your GPU is and a screenshot of preferences/ file io to see what GPU decoder is in use.
