Build 302 and 356 Sub-Clips are black

I'm having a problem creating sub-clips. I noticed this when I tried to reverse a clip. If I try to reverse the playback or simply create a sub-clip, the image disappears. As a workaround, I tried using an envelope to reverse the speed by 100%. However, this creates a new problem: I can no longer edit the clip, or if I do, the edit jumps around.

By the way, I reverted to build 302 because the window layouts were constantly causing problems and editing envelopes no longer worked well. Does anyone have a solution for the black sub-clips or for editing clips played back at 100%?

Is this with ProRes? I've seen the same thing with it turning black. I don't have a fix.

I now suspect that the problem is due to update Build 356. The issues only occur for me in projects created with Build 356, even when opened with Build 302.
