@ Steve Mann

Now if they could make it as good or even better than HandBrake then it would worth using. It is a lot better than in the past and much better than MC but still a bit under par on low bit rates.

Thanks for that Steve! Setting my MP4-ers with this now. Hate clients to having to wait..... it's not very "pro".

HandBrake as a "bar" to get over gives SCS something to think about.

But still no fix for the interminably slow project load times when the Project Media panel is open.

TBH this problem had never affected me until a few days ago. But it causing problems now that I want to use it.

Surely SCS can fix it?

I realize that quite a few people around here swear by Handbrake and I agree it's very good. But I have to say that I think Ripbot is even better. And you can frameserve from Vegas Pro to Ripbot using the debugmode frame server with Ripbot. It works flawlessly with VP10 for me. The results are outstanding.

Out of curiosity, do you have bins in your project? If so, how many?

No bins. Merely making the Project Media panel visible is enough to kill Vegas next time it's opened.

But something you mentioned in another thread makes me wonder if it's related to s Windows Update. The issue only hit after I repaired Windows 7, and new drivers for my mouse and keyboard were installed. Previously, I had not been using these drivers (mouse and keyboard).

I'll disable them to see if it makes a difference. I do hope so as VP12 has been great to work with (except for the erratic GPU acceleration performance.)

No, not the mouse/keyboard drivers...

I don't see a separate topic devoted to this, Rather than hijack this thread maybe we should start one?

BTW, I have a project with the same problem.

'_Lenny_' and 'rmack350',

After I post new thread of my crashes during open project.

I read again your posts, can't remember if the tab "Project Media" was opened in mine..., looks like I had almost similar issue..., but I can only open the project if I open start-point backup project first.

Not comfortable to keep on going in 714, I'm afraid I won't be able to open edited project later!

Roll back to 670

Add: as for slow open issue, It happened when I load 714 project in 670. VERY slow.
I decided to restart over in 670. Next time open quicker

Check for this issue in b726 ?

I'm not able to upgrade as I'm in the middle of project right now.
