Build 726 won't install or update

I had a computer with windows 8 running the prior release and it would always crash the installer to build 726, 64 bit.
So I figured time for a new computer.
Now with a brand new Asus with that monster 2560x1440 screen, new machine, build 276 also crashes in install.
It is a new download from Sony and on a virgin Windows 8 machine.
Where can I get the previous build so I can get back to using Vegas 12 or why can't I get it to install on any machine or update the existing Vegas 12 on my computer?
I guess I can use the original Vegas 12 install CD until there is a newer build that will install.
Virus protection was turned off.
Ran installer as administrator,too.

sharedPlug-Ins\audio_x64\sfppack1_x64.dll failed to register is the error.

I have to assume you mean B726? But as you mentioned it twice, I thought it prudent to bring it to your attention. I've not heard of B276?

However, crash on install is a pig. Can't help much, 'cept try downloading again? Could be it's a damaged download. Sure, with all the checksum checking etc it shouldn't have happened, but give it a whirl? What the size of your download? Above here it's rated at 231.7MB.

Grazie

Yes - 726.

I found a copy of b563 and installed it OK.
I'll wait for th next update unless there is a solution.
3 different computers - 2 would not update and one was a new computer - virgin - and it didn't install. All Windows 8 with all updates as of yesterday.

(edited previous post to show726)

Download right size and was downloaded various days from the Sony site and both at home and the office. Same download and same result.

It goes through all the install then stops when it can't registerthe DLL. Then backs out the update.

I'm going to try a new download now that 563 is installed.

This time with 563 installed it finally completed.
I'll see whatversion is on atthe officeandtry again there since I workthere daytime andhome atnight.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned.. Maybe a clean uninstall and then download/install from SCS from your online account where your legal serial # is also stored.
I run pro12 on a 64bit win8 machine (I Dare Say) flawlessly..
Once you get the software calibrated, it is the best NLE outside of Hollywood machinery.

Win 8 or 8.1?

I had no trouble with the install on a fresh build Win 8.1 machine. FWIW...

..hang in there!

..edit: What are the specs of your machine?
