Bumping up individual clip volume

Hi,

I'm a relatively new user to Vegas Platinum 9.0 and have a question. I have multiple audio clips playing at the same time (narration on one track and background noise on another). The recording for the background noise was a bit quiet and I would like to increase the level of this track as high as I can get it. I can't adjust the entire track as there are other clips on it that are fine. Is there a way of upping the volume of a single clip higher than the level it was recorded at?

I've tried adding the "Volume" audio effect, but when the clip is saved I get an error message and it says the function can not be completed.

Any suggestions?

If it works in Studio as in Pro, press V which inserts a blue line through the centre of the audio track. By double clicking, on the line at the relevant places, create four small, solid boxes and then drag the line between the inner two up or down to get the level you want.

Great! That does exactly what I wanted....

Guess it should have been obvious..."V"
