burn baby burn

have written regarding this prob before and the suggestion response did the trick, so now I'm confused as to why it's not working. here goes---

I have a dvdr/rw burner which I added to my comp. dvda seems to think that it's simply a cd media only drive. I think the prob lies somewhere within the happy place of my computer, but I unfortunately cannot find that happy spot due to a severe loss of brain cells which have snuck off in the night somehow. Anyway, I tried disabling the "skip drive database" which worked last time, but not this time. anyone? anyone?

and if it still refuses to wk, how Exactly do I burn w/ nero? (again, I cite loss of brain cells--or perhaps an original lack)
thank you so much smart people!

Are you running windows? IF so this will sound strange I know but the first thing I would do is try running the new hardware install in the control panel and when you get to the question check have windows look for new plug and play devices check it and see if windows properly recognizes it. This may solve the problem.

Use DVDA to create the Video_TS and Audio_TS folders.

Use Nero to burn those two folders to the DVD.

What DVD burner do you have? What brand of media are you using? Have you tried using a different brand of media?
