Burn CD from avi file and have no sound

I've captured an audio tape via my video card, and saved it as an avi file. I've loaded it into Vegas, entered the chapters, where everything sounds/works just fine. I then go to burn a "Disk at once audo CD". I get a burn (disk has clearly been written on), I can go to the tracks (sizes seem correct), but there is no sound. Nothing. Tried on multiple systems, including the one I burned it on.

What's the secret?

Just out of curiosity, how are you looking at the CD? Are you looking at the directory listing in Explorer and seeing a list of .CDA files? Have you tried putting the CD in a regular CD player?

Yes, all 34 tracks show, with appropriate sizes. I can rip them from the CD with Vegas - but here is nothing there! I've tried on multiple players.
