Burn Device

Hi, I've been happily durning DVDs via DVDA using my Sony DRU-510A for some time. However after a recent break I'm back into it but find 'Device' in 'Select Burn Parameters' is now greyed out.
I notice this has been raised from time to time in the Forum but wonder if there is a definitive answer to this problem. Why should it just change for no apparent reason?

This may seem a silly suggestion... do you have a DVD in the drive? It is greyed out if there is no DVD in the drive when you bring up the "burn" menu.
