I am burning on a Sony Double layer burner drive. I have tried burning at both 4 and 8x. The media is ritek printable media certified at 8x.

What I get is the Burning screen will come up and the approximate time left will start running up and it will go for about 4 minutes and then it will give me this error message saying that the disc is either corrupt or dirty. All I have to do is put the same disc back in and hit burn again and it works fine. What is the problem? This same media worked fine on both 4 and 5. I am only having this issue with Vegas 6.

Anybody got anything on this?

sony burners seem to have a lot of bugs at times ...

there are so many variables and/or reasons for this error ..

did you try using another burning app instead ?

No, I didn't try any other burning software. I could try Nero, but it would seem that there should be an update for DVDA 3 or the sony burner that would correct this problem.

two different divisions of sony - far removed from each other .

i've got the 710a and I use RiData printable 4x+R's with no problem.

Try using nero. I (personally) like themfor burning: more options then DVDA. But I can understand the agraviation: you just want to prep & burn w/o interacting with it & it's gone fubar...
